'Do Your Time'

Faith sister

The backgrounds and harmonies :ohwow: She doesn't get the credit she deserves. I get chills every time.

Beyonce "tries."

Her vocal is not effortless.

For instance that "I Care" raw studio video. Those grunts. Strategically placed growls. It's all for show, technical, and not anointed. She's yelling on key for short periods, then grunting. People mistake her technicality and preciseness for something else. Like how Whit just opened her mouth and a belt flew out and she wouldnt flinch. Even Bey's falsetto sounds like its hard for her to do. Very airy and with a lot of effort. The end of "Signs" for example. Just not really natural to me, all tricks.

That lil live "Irreplacable" she did with the group of women around her sitting or whatever. So many people posted that on my timelines like it was just..........amazee. But to me, it was just cute. Sing songy and cute but people swear she was sanging.

There's something so peculiar about her voice. It has fooled so many. I think again, its that "package." Her voice alone is actually very light, almost bland against a lot of people on Glock's list.

Now here you're kinda preaching.
I've kinda been saying this and got dragged.

I think Bey has perfected her voice, knows it, and has an amazing ear as well.

She can do a lot of tricks and growls and sick harmonies but if she was STRIPPED of all of that and had to give a live, raw impromptu mess with some of the great name gorls of today:

Kelly Price
Toni
KeKe
Fantasia
Brandy
Jazmine
Monica
Tamar
Ledisi

She'd have a HARD time on stage with them. And I don't think she'd be able to outshine a majority of them. She's very rehearsed, and calculated. Nothing wrong with that; that's her style of singing. But she lacks a rawness and vulnerability. Bey has NEVER made me cry while singing. Even when those eye dropped tears are flowing on stage.
I don't feel it.
they would all just be going at it
because they definitely wouldn't just blow Bey away

Does Bey have like, bathroom banger type clips? When someone said strip her of this and that, and have her just give a raw, unrehearsed, from the soul mess, what would she give.... I'm thinking of singers who do renditions of classic songs and just be in their zone...... going..

Does Bey have anything like this that isnt kinda "scripted"

Wow I never thought about this but this is true!!!

I've never heard her sing on the spot neither. Like someone call her on stage just to do a lil something. Everything is rehearsed or prerecorded

Appreciate it but that's a song. And shes singing it just like the record.

I mean something like the clip of keke from earlier sing "Sparrow" or Bran "Over The Rainbow"
she definitely improvised on the ad-libs here
it's not exactly like the recording

I knew I was gonna see that Halo video

n

It was either gonna be that or her singing 1+1 in the dressing room

Aalonso.

Beyonce is just in that lil sweet spot vocally. Just enough of this, just enough of that.

I'm thinking about Drunk In Love which was basically talking, except for that yell in the chorus. But her elastic, young, colorful vocal tone just makes it SOUND like singing. Its so weird.

I've never heard Beyonc? just BLOW
