At what age should you move out of your family's home?
My parents kinda kept me hostage for years but I broke free and escaped in my late 20s.
African parents are kinda like that. You stay till you get married.
Breaking free was the best thing I ever did for myself.

Once I got a taste of independence in college, I didn't wanna go back. I did briefly and it just wasn't for me.
I feel like as an adult you need your own space. Peace. A sanctuary of your own. My mom was the traditional "my house, my rules" kinda gal. Don't get me wrong, I respected her home but I needed to get outta there.
I learned so much about myself after I left the nest. Then there's a sense of pride that comes with having your own. Life happens, financial hardships happen, traditions happen, illnesses happen. Understandable. My parents would always welcome me back with open arms but ain't no way.
